CAPSTONE STUDENTS - The following are links to card catalogs outside of the Online Card Catalog above. These are libraries throughout Connecticut, that loan books out to all CT students. Click on link to search their online catalogs. You can request these books from the public library in your hometown.
CONNECT - This is a list of all of the local libraries outside of Hartford, including website, card catalog and activities for that town. This is the next best place to start your book search
REQUEST This is the CT State Library Online Card Catalog. You can borrow books but must borrow from library posted. They do not interlibrary loan books for you. Go to your hometown library and let them know the information you have from Request. They will help.

Classical Library Hours
The library is open from 7:30 am to 3:15 pm each day. During the school day, students must have a pass to come to the library unless they are coming with a class. Lunch passes for same-day use are available before school every day. Students cannot bring lunch to library. Lunches must be finished before entering library.

Books

Books circulate for a period of two weeks. Lost or damaged books are billed at replacement cost. Only cash is accepted for payment.

Box Tops for Education

The Classical library participates in the Box Tops for Education program. Proceeds support library programming and resources, including passes to area attractions (New Britain Museum of American Art, Harriet Beecher Stowe House) See Mrs. Kennedy or Mrs. Richmond to borrow passes. Please bring your boxtops to the library!

Staff

Debbie Mortensen, LMS [mailto:mortd001@hartfordschools.org] 860-695-9110. Ms. Mortensen has been a library media specialist in Hartford at Weaver High and University High School of Science and Engineering. She once worked as a Midnight Librarian at the Hartford Public Library and is a Virtual High School Site Coordinator in other Hartford schools. She has also worked as a Medical Librarian in New York's Mount Sinai Hospital and the Hospital Library Director at UConn Health Center in Farmington and at Central Connecticut Hospital in New Britain. She is currently a part-time Adult Education Teacher with the Hartford Adult Education Center, working with TESOL and Reading/Writing Remediation for Adults seeking their GED-Graduate Education Diplomas.
